TOPIC: Return To God              

TEXT: Lam. 5: 1-21, Mal. 3:7, Jer. 15:19.

We have been spiritually injured and lost spiritual strength, virtues, health, and wealth because we forsook God with our sinful lifestyles and our absence from His presence. We all have a divine assignment to fulfill, but; how can it be possible, when sin has pushed many far from God who is on the track of fulfillment? Your life is an investment of God, don’t say you have your life to live because; God will judge how you use it.

 Returning to God is not an option but; a necessity to fulfill destiny and escape Hellfire. God is calling you to draw close to Him now, by forsaking every sinful act, correcting, or doing the needful before it’s too late. This does not mean God is suffering in a relationship or making you more important than the uncountable people burning already in Hell, but because He cares for your Salvation; considering the suffering and agony in Hell, if you eventually die in your sinful or unfulfilled state.

It’s Better To Return.

Lamentation 5:1-22. Gives us a clear description of how the enemies often afflict and claim dominion over people even; the so-called children of God (Believers), when they forsake God. However; these people realized the result of their sinful ways. They saw the need to quickly return to God so that He will forgive them, restore their wasted years, and give them victory over their enemies. 

Today, many are stagnant spiritually and physically, many afflicted, many imprisoned, many molested and many hindered in their progress, just because they are far from God.

Things That Take People Away From God

√ Weakness and Sin (Isa. 59:1-3).

√ Self-Reliance or Overconfidence / Ego (Acts. 12:21-23).

√ Disobedience To Godly Instructions (Deut.28:15-16).

√ False Teaching or Heresy (Rev.2:14-15). 

√ Carelessness or Pollution. (1Cor.5:1-2).

√ Weakness in prayer and studying God’s word (Eph.6:12).

Why We Need To Return To God.

1) For His anger to cease over us (Isa. 64:9).

2) Healing of spiritual injuries and our days to be renewed as of old (Isa. 53:5, Exo. 15:26, Lam. 5:21)

3) To avoid being destroyed Under His anger (Isa. 57:15, 2Chron. 30:9).

4) To obtain eternal rest with Him (Heb. 4:9, Matt. 11:28).

To regain your place before God as children of God (Luke 15:1-24).

5) To enjoy the presence and fellowship with God (1Jn. 1:3, 1Cor. 1:9, Hos. 2:23).

6) To make Heaven (either by death or Rapture)

How To Return To God

√ Genuinely Repent, confess your sins, and forsake it all (Prov. 28:13).

√ Return to your assignments, to do or correct the needful (Rev. 2:5).

√ Do away with ungodly things and ungodly companies of people (2 Cor.6:14).

√ Pray, Study, and Meditate on God’s word daily (Joshua 1:8).

√ Obey every Godly Instruction and Commandments.

√ Be ready to offend anyone or lose anything to please God. 

Consequences Of Not Returning To God.

1. Physical & Spiritual Death (Psa. 9:17). 

2. Spiritual Slavery (John. 18:34, Rom. 6:16) 

3. Woes & Curses (Deut. 28: 15-68) 

4. Spiritual Afflictions (Psa. 119:67) 

5. Reproach (Prov. 14:34, Prov. 11:11) 

6. Eternal destruction in Hell (Psa. 9:17)

Return to God Now, Before It’s Too Late; To Avoid Being A Burning Stick In Hell.
